Research Interests

Supercritical Fluid Extractions and Reactions 
Supercritical fluids (SCFs) are attractive media for extractions and chemical reactions because of their unique properties. Many of the physical and transport properties of an SCF are intermediate between those of a liquid or a gas. The reactants and the SCF frequently form a single phase; therefore , there is no mass transfer limitation. Research in SCF is being carried out on biodiesel production in supercritical methanol and supercritical solvent extraction of coal. Supercritical water oxidation is also carried out with the collaboration of the university of Tokyo
