Chemical Modification of Rubber
The chemical modification of rubber is used to improve the chemical and mechanical properties of rubbers. The chemical modification reactions currently under study include hydrogenation and graft copolymerization of natural rubber. We are currently optimizing the catalysts and studying the kinetics and mechanisms of natural rubber hydrogenation

Coal Conversion Technology
The development of technologies for more efficient coal conversion to heat and gaseous and liquid fuels is one objective in meeting the energy requirement. Research is being carried out on pyrolysis, liquefaction and solvent extraction of coal. We emphasized on greater and more efficient processing of coal via supercritical fluid extraction.

Coal Cleaning and Desulfurization
We are developing the process to remove as much noncarbonaceous material in coal that is economically feasible in order to produce a uniform high-quality coal for any desired use. The cleaning process includes chemical desulfurization and demineralization.
