Application Procedures for Graduate Study in the Department of Chemical Technology, Faculty of Science
PhD program
Standard route

– The applicant must obtain a Bachelor’s degree with at least a second class honor (or equivalent) in chemical engineering (or equivalent), or

– The applicant must obtain a Master’s degree in chemical technology, fuel technology, chemical engineering, industrial chemistry, biotechnology, petrochemistry, food technology (or equivalent), and

– The graduate program committee has approved the applicant’s eligibility to apply.

– The applicant must obtain a CU-TEP score of at least 45, or a TOEFL score of at least 450, or an IELTS score of at least 4.0.

– The interview schedule will be posted in the Graduate School website (http://www.grad.chula.ac.th/Edu_Service/first51.php).

Special route (Application period: rolling)

– The applicant must obtain a Bachelor’s degree with at least a second class honor (or equivalent) in chemical engineering (or equivalent), or the applicant is currently studying in the final academic year of an undergraduate program in chemical engineering (or equivalent) and possesses a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, or

– The applicant must obtain a Master’s degree in chemical technology, chemical engineering, industrial chemistry, biotechnology, petrochemistry, food technology (or equivalent) with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75, or obtain a ‘very good’ performance level in the thesis evaluation, or the applicant is currently studying in the final academic year of a Master’s program in the aforementioned fields of study and possesses a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75, and

– The applicant must obtain a TOEFL score of at least 500.

– The interview schedule will be announced on a case-by-case basis.

Master’s program

Standard route

– The applicant must obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, food technology, chemistry, industrial chemistry, petrochemistry, biotechnology, material science, physics, or

– The applicant must obtain a Bachelor of Engineering degree in chemical engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in an equivalent field of study, and

– The graduate program committee has approved the applicant’s eligibility to apply.

– The applicant must obtain a CU-TEP score of at least 30, or a TOEFL score of at least 400, or an IELTS score of at least 3.0.

– The examination and interview schedule will be posted in the Graduate School website (http://www.grad.chula.ac.th/Edu_Service/first51.php).

Special route (Application period: rolling)

– The applicant must obtain a Bachelor of Science degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 in chemical engineering, food technology, chemistry, industrial chemistry, petrochemistry, biotechnology, material science, physics, or the applicant is currently studying in the final academic year of an undergraduate program in the aforementioned fields of study and possesses a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00, or

– The applicant must obtain a Bachelor of Engineering degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 in chemical engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in an equivalent field of study, or the applicant is currently studying in the final academic year of an undergraduate program in the aforementioned fields of study and possesses a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00, and

– The applicant must obtain a TOEFL score of at least 450.

– The interview schedule will be announced on a case-by-case basis.
